Ross Dwyer Fresh off a gold medal at the 2019 Women’s World Cup, USWNT captain Megan Rapinoe linked up with Complex for a little Sneaker Shopping at Stadium Goods in NYC. Sporting a yet-to-be-released black colorway of the sacai Nike LDWaffles, Rapinoe talks about how excited she was to receive a pair of the Air Jordan 11 “Concord” as a child, and also discusses sharing sneaker storage space — and sneakers — with girlfriend Sue Bird. She then parlays that into discussing how Bird bought her a pair of the Off-White Air Jordan 1 “Chicago,” and how she managed to get them signed by Virgil Abloh. Never one to bite her tongue, Rapinoe also throws some shade at a “certain president” who didn’t congratulate her or her teammates after they secured World Cup gold on Twitter, and shares plenty of other anecdotes with the eternally jazz-handed host before dropping a handsome four-figure sum on four pairs of sneakers.
