Ross Dwyer LeBron James is a man of many hats off of the basketball court, and one of his ventures is Uninterrupted, an “athlete empowerment brand” that recently teased an impending Nike Air Force 1 Low collaboration. Created in partnership with LBJ’s longtime confidant/business partner Maverick Carter, Uninterrupted aims to present athletes in a different light by showing they’re much more than the sports they play, so these collaborative Nike shoes feature hand-scrawled black text with a multitude of meaningful messages. “I Am More Than My Body,” “I Am The Message,” “I Am The Source,” “And I Have A Story To Tell” plus “I Am More Than An Athlete” are presented in close succession on the heel. If “I Am More Than An Athlete” seems familiar, that’s because you’ve indeed seen it before: in 2018, LeBron was spotted in a custom “More Than An Athlete” Air Force 1 after Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham suggested he “shut up and dribble” when he publicly shared his opinions on President Donald Trump. Below this manifesto, there’s also a strip of fabric with printed blue “I Am Uninterrupted” text.
