Among all the numbered Air Jordan sneakers released over the past three decades, few pairs get the same praise as those worn in-game by Michael Jordan across his 15 seasons in the NBA. While both faithful and collaborative retros of models like the Jordan 1 have garnered popularity of new heights for these silhouettes, rarely have inline, non-OG reissues gotten a degree of admiration rivaling that of their earliest counterparts. But the Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” is arguably the most obvious exception to this “rule” given that new and old sneaker enthusiasts alike have been pleading for its return for the past 14 years. Released in 2006, the triple-black AJ4 served as a nod to one of #23’s nicknames and its reissue is almost identical to the original release. Constructed with nubuck, uppers on this pair feature an easy-to-wear monochromatic look that is only contrasted by a graphite Jumpman logo on the tongue and glossy finishes at the heel and eyestays. Breathable netting at the midfoot follow suit, just like midsoles, laces and other tooling.
