AURALEE Rejoins New Balance Japan For A Duo Of Understated COMP100s

AURALEE Rejoins New Balance Japan For A Duo Of Understated COMP100s

Just last year, AURALEE debuted their inaugural sneaker collaboration alongside New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio. The RC-2, which embellished with their signature minimalist style, has since reached cult status — almost impossible to find and quite expensive if ever. With their Spring/Summer 2020 collection on its way, the Japanese label is also reprising their collaborative relationship with the Boston-based imprint, using two COMP100s as the medium for a premium yet understated aesthetic. Revived recently, the silhouette has since flew under the radar after its original release back in the late 70s, forgotten by most aside from the runners of the same era. Every structural element, fittingly, basks in the design language of the period in time as paneling forms to an indisputably classic profile. The palette options, while few, are a perfect fit within the partnered concert, using tonal swathes of either a light grey or a much darker tan burnt onto a luxe make-up of grain leather. Accompanied by basic apparel pieces, both pairs will be dropping exclusively overseas come February 8th.
