Vans Adds Psychedelic Tie-Dye To Their Iconic Checkerboard Print

Vans is recognizing the importance of its checkerboard print this March with a limited Slip-On “Fast Times” release, and yet a new “Tie-Dye Checker” collection demonstrates it’s also unafraid of modifying the iconic pattern.

Featuring the Era and Old Skool, the colorful set reimagines the square motif with retro purples, greens, reds and more. Forgoing their iconic “Cream/Black” arrangement, checkerboard patterns feature a white base on the Era and a black equivalent on the Old Skool. Each silhouette deviates from its signature option via psychedelic graphics that fill-in the gaps on the textile uppers. A “VANS”-branded tag interrupts the tie-dye mashup on the Era, but slightly when compared to the Old Skool’s signature profile stripes. Laces and lining on both pairs are left colorless, just as ComfyCush-infused bottom halves are, save for the black line that wraps around each pair and standard red “Off The Wall” logos at the heel.

If you’re interested in giving your checkered Vans a break, but still want the iconic pattern, you can pick up either pair of this tie-dye collection on Vans.com right now. The Era is priced at $65 USD, while the Old Skool is priced slightly higher at $70 USD.
