Philadelphia-based Lapstone and Hammer, even in the midst of the COVID-19 crises, is keeping positive, introducing just today their first collaboration with the esteemed Saucony label. Dubbed the “Two Rivers” collection, the offerings imbue luxury with force as they rethink the Courageous silhouette — adding on “Moc” to its namesake as result of their efforts. Effectively something brand new entirely, the model beams in quality as it stands to be one of the first hand-stitched pairs in decades.
And as its theme would imply, two colorways are set to come forth: one prefers darker tones applied to the suede constructions while the alternate contrasts in a mix of cream neutrals. But though their palettes are far from one another, their smaller details are one in the same as the toe box whip-stitches to the likeness of traditional footwear, specifically the moccasins from which they borrow. Elsewhere finer brown-tinged leathers outfit the heel tab, ripple soles add aggression at the bottom, Sherpa linings carry warmth, and typical flat laces swap for complementing leather strips. The latter finished by a colored toggle — orange on the white set and purple on the black — all accents come together as the side logos and TPU supports round off the entire display.
Mindful of the need for social distancing and self-quarantine, the retailer will be proffering multiple chances to secure your personal set. Early access has already been given out to select supporters.
In other news, the New Balance 992 just got a vibrant multi-color scheme.
