Jovani Hernandez While LeBron James has recently taken to social media to show his goofiness alongside his family, the NBA veteran isn’t abandoning his commitment to serious issues amid the COVID-19 crisis. Time after time, James reminds the public that he is more than an athlete – a phrase that’s inspired pairs of the LeBron 17 – and unapologetic about using his platform for causes he holds close. Over the years, the kid from Akron has used his celebrity to promote the fight against breast cancer, with his latest effort arriving in the form of the LeBron Soldier 13 “Kay Yow.”
Dedicated to the legacy of legendary basketball coach Sandra Kay Yow, the newest LeBron Soldier silhouette is clad in “Vibrant Pink.” Medial heels are adorned with embroidered pink ribbons just as “Think Pink” releases of yesteryear. Aesthetic accents and functional tooling throughout the ripstop upper slightly interrupt the striking rose arrangement, appearing most prominently on the aforementioned heel. Bottom halves are split using the rear panel’s diagonal seam. The forefoot features a light pink midsole embellished with “Regency Purple” speckles, as well as tread of the same purple hue; the remaining half boasts a white midsole/translucent outsole combination.
The LeBron Soldier 13 “Kay Yow” is available right now via the Nike.com webstore.
In related Nike Basketball news, the Kyrie 6 has recently emerged in a patriotic blue, red and white colorway.
