If you’ve been a follower of the King’s signature kicks, you’d notice that its fairly common for them to pull inspiration from throwback Swoosh models as we’ve seen demonstrated by his latest LeBron 17 mimicking classics such as the Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” and the Air Command Force. And for it’s next act, it’s calling upon this homage-focused mentality once again to impersonate an iconic basketball silhouette popularized by the great Scottie Pippen – the Air Uptempo. Most of its complexion is executed in a potent “University Red” hue, and is couple with stark black accents swirled into its marbled Battleknit upper and entire throat reminiscent of similar Air Uptempo 95 colorway that retro’d last year. Additionally, the badge symbol usually featured on the tongues of Air Uptempo 97 is appropriately inherited and placed atop the lower throat.
