Reebok has been focusing on pumping out a serious number of new footwear options this season as they’ve readied a trio of Allen Iverson’s signature Question silhouette, in addition to unveiling forthcoming collaborations. Among the latter is their partnership with Japanese imprint Mountain Research, and after reimagining the DMX Trail Shadow into a sneaker more fit for hiking outdoors, they’re now applying their touch to a more casual model with this all-new take on the Alien Stomper. When the brand was formally known as General Research, they used to craft similarly-styled high-cut velcro-strap sneakers, and that is clearly referenced here by main designer Setsumasa Kobayashi on this latest rendition. Instructional elements are brought into play as “Fold And Turn Over After Going Thru Eyelet” and “Keep Strapped To Hold Firmly” notations are placed atop its lockdown regions, which are seated next to MR branding on the tongues via their signature “civil disobedience anarchists mountaineers saunterer + punks” slogan printed on the interior and their mountain logo on the exterior. Heels also get adorned with a graphical treatment by spelling out the statement “Never Been To the Moon”. For those looking to cop, these will be dropping first on the Mountain Research web store on May 1st, followed by a global release on Reebok.com and at select retailers on May 8th.
