Updated August 14th, 2024: The upcoming Wizard Of Oz Nike SB Dunks has a hidden layer underneath the outer floral exterior. @prvt.selection has revealed the hidden pattern, revealing a ruby-colored leather under the toe-box. It’s not clear if this color is consistent on the entire shoe.

Updated August 12th, 2024: New images of the Nike SB Dunk Low “The Wizard Of Oz” have surfaced. The design is consistent with our first look, although the colors appear a bit darker in different lighting. Notably, the new image set gives us our first glimpse at the insoles, which feature a graphic of the Wicked Witch of the West next to her crystal ball. The shoes are currently expected to release Fall/Winter 2024, although Nike hasn’t floated a firm date at the time of this update. Sequels are far from a rare occurrence in footwear, especially in the realm of Nike SB. Almost a decade since the original release of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Dorothy”, Beaverton creatives are set to revisit the concept with an official The Wizard of Oz x Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration projected to drop later this year.

That 2015 release adapted Judy Garland’s costuming throughout the film, and in kind, this reflects one of the more lasting images from the film: Dorothy & The Cowardly Lion asleep in a field of poppies. That graphic is dominant throughout the shoe, bleeding onto the midsole after taking over essentially the whole upper, crafted in lightweight, wrinkled fabric.

On the interior, a silken sock-liner gives way to special insoles featuring the Wicked Witch of The West and assorted imagery from the 1939 classic. Additionally, the heel of the shoe reads “No Place Like Home,” matching the iconic aesthetics with one of the most memorable quotes in film history. Though some of those details can’t be seen in these first looks, it’s rumored that these will also feature a second pattern underneath a la the City of Style SBs from earlier this year.

The Wizard of Oz x Nike SB Dunk Low is expected Fall/Winter 2024. Firmer release info will surely become clearer as that timeframe gets closer. For now, check out the full suite of first look images ahead via @thesolesorcerer.
