Jovani Hernandez Since leaving the archives back in March, the Nike Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 has maintained relevance via a handful of impressive, mostly general releases. The latest forgoes any tonal or Air Kukuni-style arrangements from Stussy in favor of a summer-ready, tri-colored ensemble.
Free of any metallic treatment, uppers on this Spiridon Cage 2 maintain their ultra-breathable mesh and leather construction. The pair’s “skeleton” is overtaken by “Black” that also appears across the lace loops and rear overlay. “Flash Crimson” animates the lightweight textile at the forefoot and midfoot, as well as branding at the tongue and heel. Elsewhere throughout the Steven Smith-designed silhouette, “White” fills in the gaps, with profile Swooshes indulging in a “yin-and-yang” scheme. Underfoot, all three aforementioned hues divvy up the sole units. The fluorescent scarlet, however, makes the boldest statement of the trio as it overtakes the “caged” Zoom Air unit at the heel.
A release date is still unknown, but this Spiridon Cage 2 is likely to arrive quietly to Nike.com in the coming weeks. In the meantime, enjoy a closer look at the pair here below.
