New Balance Adds Plaid Patchwork To The 992

New Balance Adds Plaid Patchwork To The 992

With the success of the New Balance 992, it’d be a shame for the brand to reserve it for the rare exclusive. And as collaborations have begun to fill that space — thanks to some contributions from labels like WTAPS and KITH — the in-house design team has switched gears to better prepare an expansive handful of colorways for release throughout what is likely this year and the next. Among some simple palette swaps and vibrant treatments, it looks like the silhouette is also poised to experiment with patchwork as it adorns its underlays with a bevy of different patterns. Red check of all sizes and variations dress the toe in complement to both its overlays and adjacent toe caps while the back heel is by and large more understated in its yellow-accented black watch. Mixed atop are various panels of leather in polished mahogany as well as a natural tan whose suede counterparts contrast by way of more neutral blues and greys. Grab a detailed look at these right here and expect a release to arrive at NewBalance.com hopefully within the coming months.

In other news, a JJJJound New Balance 992 is still in the works.
