Quickly going from announcement to release, Dime’s inaugural collaboration with New Balance ushers in a breath of fresh air for the Boston-imprint’s seasonal collaborations. While the 992 and 327 still garner quite a bit of attention, the Montreal-based skate shop have opted to cut against the grain with two colorways of the 2000s-infused 860 v2.
More runner than it is a skate shoe, the 860 v2 is tweaked most noticeably along its colorway. Rather than pivot the model to better suit their interests, Dime has chosen to comment on streetwear’s growing interest in technical silhouettes, especially ones of the silhouette’s aesthetic and performance caliber. Hued in two ways, the offerings deliver either palettes of light grey or a much darker navy. The latter, which delivers more color in tandem, applies decal lines and “N” logo outlines of bright yellow, each playing complement to the black and navy constructions that dress behind. “Dime” marked hang tabs sit proudly along the back heel in matching yellow along both, though it’s obviously more pronounced against the other pair’s white and cream base.
Grab a close-up look at both options right here and sit tight as we await the upcoming August 29th release.
In unrelated news, a blue/orange Reebok Instapump Fury has arrived in time for Fall.
