Snow Peak and New Balance started their collaborative relationship with arguably one of the best releases of 2019. And now nearly an entire year after, the Japanese imprint is preparing yet another capsule with the Tokyo Design Studio that’s replete with utility-infused garments and the newly invented Niobium Concept 1, a modular sneaker that can be worn a total of three ways: as a waterproof boot, as an outdoor sandal, or as an indoor slipper.
A reflection of the brand’s entire ethos, the silhouette itself effectively mimics a few mainline standouts in terms of their modularity. The base shoe, its boot-like form, is not too unlike that of the pair that precedes it aside from the new earth tone colorway; function leaves little if anything to be desired thanks to the the trail equipped MT801 sole, the seemingly waterproof-coated construction, and eVent tech that proffers improved weather resistance. What’s more, if you often find yourself at home or simply walking the streets, you can remove the technical bootie and replace it with the alternative sandal insert or a leave it off for mule akin design that better reveals the co-branded insignia along the insole.
Grab a detailed look at the Niobium right here and expect a release to hit select Japanese retailers on August 29th.
In other news, the Nike ISPA Drifter is releasing in Black very soon.
