Elliot Santiago Usually when Nike passes off a silhouette to its D/MS/X sub-label, the results have a tendency to come out with drastic modifications to either its shape, Swoosh materials, overlays, etc. However, that’s not necessarily the case for this latest take which involves the highly-popular Blazer Mid ’77.
Previewed about a month ago, the forthcoming D/MS/X offering for the most part keeps much of the usual Blazer DNA that we’re used to, only it now finds itself slightly more dimension-heavy thanks to the rubber overlays that form its Swooshes, heels, and forefoot. All of these deliver vibrant energy as they merge together “Kumquat/Aurora Green/Bright Crimson” color-blocking reminiscent of tropical island colors, or even the accents found on the Scooby Doo truck. Elsewhere, its base is presented with the usual leather build and sees through to a crispy white background to allow the accents to do the talking.
