Sneaker News The world’s best golfers will convene in New York at the Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY as the U.S. Open is scheduled for play beginning on September 14th. Nike Golf, continuing its spirited run of impeccably themed footwear and apparel collection, will deliver the “Wing It” capsule consisting of five key models – the Zoom Infinity Tour G, Zoom Vapor Tour G, Roshe Tour G, Air Max 97 G, and Air Jordan V Low G. The familiar bold striping on the sock-liner and soles matches the famed awning of the country club, while a tapestry of winged foot logos appears on the uppers – a nod to the historic course in Westchester. The Air Jordan V Low furthers the embodiment of the theme with a translucent “netting” shaped into feathers. The entire collection will be available on September 14th for Nike members and on September 17th for the general public. The Air Jordan 5 Golf drops on September 18th.
In addition to the “Wing It” collection, Nike Golf will commemorate the legacy of Tiger Woods with a “Tiger Slam” polo. A new oval logo is inspired by the Yin Yang, nodding to Tiger’s Eastern and Western heritage, his mastery of both the physical and mental aspect of the game, and the golf plane. This polo will drop exclusively to Nike members on September 15th for $72.
