Since four years ago, Pyer Moss and its founder Kerby Jean-Raymond have shared their expertise with Reebok on a collaborative scale, presenting experiment after experiment to high praise. And now, the New York born talent is receiving a well-deserved promotion as the brand has officially appointed him the role of Vice President, Creative Direction.
Doubling his authority near ten-fold, Jean-Raymond will now be providing creative leadership across all of Reebok’s design disciplines while also taking the helm of a few forthcoming projects — “Product with Purpose,” a program intended to further the footwear label’s United Against Racism commitments, being one of the many to come. A bit further along in 2022, the award winning designer will then see to the first few silhouettes under his brand new direction.
“I am thrilled to be evolving my role at Reebok and joining the leadership team as the head of Creative Direction,” said Jean-Raymond. “I welcome this opportunity to help invigorate the brand with new ideas, while also focusing on instilling a sense of social purpose into our work.”
While it’ll be quite a bit of time before we see the designer’s works come to life, there’s at least his first standalone shoe — The Sculpt — which is due to arrive first thing October.
