Introduced in early September, the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 by D/MS/X (read: DIMSIX) has recently emerged in a simple, but versatile “White/Sail” colorway.
At a glance, Nike Sportswear’s experimental take keeps the basketball silhouette’s DNA intact, but further inspection reveals notable modifications. Profile swooshes, lateral forefoot reinforcement and heel panels boast a rubberized-layered look that adds texture and depth to the pair. Furthermore, toe tips forgo their traditional suede construction in favor of an accent similar to the Converse Jack Purcell. Exposed foam tongues opt for two-tone branding instead of the vintage-style arrangement, while undersides are stamped with black “D/MS/X” text. Elsewhere, heels feature synthetic taping that’s also accompanied by a layered accent where the upper connects with the sole unit. Underfoot, the midsole and outsole deliver some semblance of familiarity to the forthcoming release.
