NIKE, Inc. hasn’t been shy about sharing its goals towards global eco-friendliness and sustainability. And while its “Move to Zero” campaign includes changes to its brick-and-mortar locations, modifications to its footwear and apparel lines have been most visible in this journey. Soon joining the Swoosh’s Crater Foam-updates and a recent recycled canvas collection is the “Recycled Jerseys” capsule, which now boasts a Nike Blazer Mid ’77.
Like adjacent pairs of the Air Force 1 and Air Max 90, the former-basketball icon is predominantly clad in a greyscale arrangement. Textured, patterned profile construction is complemented by crimson stitching, appearing prominently around the “White” profile swooshes. Details throughout the tongue and at the heel also indulge in stark “Sport Red” contrast, and are accompanied by a punchy “Electric Green” hue that’s also appeared on the two aforementioned Nike Sportswear classics. A miniature swoosh on the midsole’s lateral side brings some of the upper’s eye-catching accents down below to an otherwise plain tonal sole unit.
No official release date is yet known, but this Blazer Mid-variant is likely to launch on Nike.com in the coming weeks. Until then, enjoy images of the pair here below.
