Jovani Hernandez First teased mid-August, Prada‘s adidas Luna Rossa 21 collaboration finally launches tomorrow, December 9th.
While reminiscent of the Italian fashion house’s America’s Cup sneaker, the forthcoming pair sails into waters uncharted by both partners. Made functional for Prada’s LUNA ROSSA (“Red Moon”) sailing team, the low-top model delivers an ultra-lightweight, sustainability-focused proposition. PRIMEGREEN design ensures the performance-silhouette is constructed with more than half of recycled materials without sacrificing the durability needed for the oldest trophy in sailing. Elsewhere, the sockliner, which sits atop a BOOST midsole, proffers a barefoot feel; tongues are accompanied by a speed-lacing system; and Continental rubber elevates the outsole’s grip. Tomorrow’s marriage of design, performance and eco-consciousness is completed by Prada’s iconic red Luna Rossa logo running up the heel.
