The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Chinese New Year” Releases On January 31st

The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Chinese New Year” Releases On January 31st

With 2021 soon to begin, both Nike and Jordan Brand are working overtime, preparing releases for not only All-Star Weekend but also Chinese New Year. And just like last, this year will see certain flagships dressed regal, this recently unveiled Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG proof of just that.

Surfaced via official images just today, the commemorative offering starts first with a familiar Black/Red colorway. Across the toe, the latter dresses in full, matching that of the Swoosh and counter; adjacent, the dark neutral covers the toe cap, side panel, and the tongue in the same canvas-like material as its more colorful counterpart. Then, over top, the pair is further embellished with on-theme motifs, multiple depictions of an Ox (the current zodiac of the year) emblazoned in two styles: one fully colored and the other thinly outlined with gilded line work. An auspicious rope, which is finished with gold knots at its end, then completes a AJ1-shaped interpretation of tradition.

Grab a close-up peek at the Air Jordan 1 Low “Chinese New Year” here and expect a release to hit Nike.com on January 31st.

Updated December 31st, 2020: The release date is confirmed for January 31st, 2021.
