Michael Le Yesterday, adidas revealed a Forum Mid inspired by the Chinese art and invention of printing. Today, the very same influences are dressing this upcoming Superstar, one made to commemorate Chinese New Year in the very same, less overt fashion.
But unlike the Forum, the Superstar’s construction is far less convoluted, removed of the moving parts that directly nodded to the printing process itself. Instead, the white leather upper is debossed all throughout with various Chinese characters, most stamped atop the lateral profile. Alongside, a red ink stamp marks the sole’s back heel, adding auspicious elements in tandem with the gilded dubrae.
