Though forever-associated with COVID-19, 2020 was still relatively productive in the realm of sneaker releases. Alongside new offerings and collaborations, Nike brought back many a past icon, including the Zoom Spiridon Caged 2, the Cross Trainer Low, and much, much more. 2021 is poised to continue the momentum as the brand is finally readying the Air Structure Triax ’91 for its awaited re-debut.
Like that of past reveals, this forthcoming colorway borrows from palettes prevalent throughout the silhouette’s original era. Its purple and bright pink hues, though also reminiscent of the time as a whole, reminds of ACG, the All Conditions sub-label that often employed the very same tones. Even the way they’re used is uncannily reminiscent, with both accenting the back counter as well as parts of the vamp and eye stay. Elsewhere, the upper is far more neutral as hues of dark grey and black dress the overlays and mesh base, respectively, as a backlight to the silver metallic Swoosh.
