First teased by Salehe Bembury, the New Balance 2002R has enjoyed a healthy amount of attention among savvy fashion enthusiasts for its retro, chunky style. Soon, the modernized-early-2000s-runner will be available with light blue suede uppers.
Mesh and leather sits underneath premium pig suede construction, which has become synonymous with New Balance. Profile “N” logos indulge in a seemingly-textured styling, with contrasting detailing around its borders. The model’s name brands the lateral heel, while the Boston-based company’s initials appear on the spine. Underfoot, ABZORB cushioning boasts an off-white color scheme that allows the upper’s arrangement revel that much more in the spotlight; its SBS ABZORB heel tooling also partakes in the light blue tone, while NERGY outsoles opt for a black makeup.
An official NewBalance.com release date is unknown, but this pair is likely to launch soon for $140 USD. Until then, enjoy a first look here below, and check out the New Balance 920 “Year of the Ox” when you’re done.
