Michael Le In the past few years, illustrations have played an important role in diversifying Nike’s portfolio of runners. And now, as revealed in 2021, it seems that the very same artist-driven technique is bleeding into Nike Golf, the sub-imprint soon to proffer an Air Max 90 Golf clad fully in playful doodles.
The foundation is, fittingly, made understated, with white mesh and leathers building from the forefoot through to the heel. Eye stay molds, the back midsole, and the heel tab, however, are dyed with pink and green color, the latter prominent throughout the artwork itself. And while one note in that respect, the motifs are quite diverse, spanning bow tie wearing aliens to Nike wearing astronauts and even random anthropomorphic palm trees. These are carried over even onto the insole, which features some of its own drawings.
