The Nike Air Force 1 has never been a silhouette to only rely on its laurels, and its latest “Experimental” iteration has reinforced this notion. For its latest ensemble, the reworked design has indulged in a striking “Archaeo Brown/University Gold/White” colorway complete with text all over the upper.
Far from standard, the upcoming pair features a glossy, accentuated construction effectively split between an “Archaeo Brown” upper and “University Gold” sole unit. Lateral profile swooshes call out to Nike Sportswear’s experimental N.354 imprint, while heels boast a shipping label-reminiscent graphic. Pull tabs on the tongue and heel deliver functionality omitted from Bruce Kilgore’s original design, as does the speed-lacing system atop the exposed foam tongue. The pair’s midsole and outsole maintain their DNA, but further propel the Air Force 1 Low-variant into new territory given their “taped” aesthetic.
