Although the Dame 7 has already received a celebratory Lunar New Year offering complete with bright red uppers and gold Chinese characters, adidas and Damian Lillard continue to draw inspiration from Eastern cultures to decorate their footwear. The upcoming Dame 7 embraces traditional watercolor painting and Asian motifs, dubbed “Gift To The World”.
The textile uppers are in a crisp white that creates a blank canvas for the red and blue watercolor-like graphics. These paintings of kumo clouds, dragons, and plants appear on the tongue, heel, and Lightstrike midsole to deliver a bold, artistic design. For more pops of color, blue cords are applied near the laces and on the hindfoot, while the midsole piece and heel tab use translucent red materials. Underfoot, the watercolor patterns continue and are sealed by a translucent outsole. A gold foil “Gift To the World” emblem is printed on the red insoles completes this Asian-inspired iteration.
A release date has yet to be announced, but you can expect the Dame 7 to drop at adidas.com for $110 when the time comes.
