Rumor of the Air Max 96 II‘s return seems to stem from one alluring OG: the “Comet Red” And after months of radio silence — and reveals of further comebacks — the colorway has finally appeared by way of official images.
This means a release could very well be just around the corner. Alongside the “Goldenrod,” the scheme returns in original form, bearing all of the same features without any of the aging. Like many of the late 90s best, most of the construction is bathed in white neutrals. Leather overlays, mesh unders, and the like ground the entire upper, setting the stage for the “Grape Ice” that accents across the lining, tongue, and side profile. Reflective strips, then, dress in tandem, while “Comet Red” touches up near all of the Swooshes as well as the segmented Air Units.
For a look at this upcoming Retro, see the full official images below. A release is currently unknown, but it’s likely we’ll see sizes on Nike.com before the end of the Spring season.
In other news, Nike is also bringing back the Air Tuned Max this month.
