Michael Le While Nike, adidas, and Vans are ready to celebrate 4/20, ASICS is planning an entirely different “Green” celebration. With Earth Day just around the corner, the Japanese footwear label is hoping to do a little bit of a good with the GEL-Lyte III and some of its friends.
The unrivaled champion of the collection, the GEL-Lyte III proposes a neutral color palette that minimizes the need for water, inks, and dyes. The construction itself is also sustainable, forgoing the usual materials for eco-leathers and recycled textiles. And though these may be new to the classic silhouette, they help retain the beloved design, mirroring the shape of the 90s original.
