With the continued popularity of retro-style runners such as the Nike Daybreak, the Swoosh isn’t hesitating to expand its line of “in with the old” heritage-inspired models. The Nike Waffle Trainer 2 SP is next to receive special attention, coming through with a sharp “Fireberry” approach straight outta the early stages of Nike’s catalogs.
The throwback look consists of a plus nylon body in a dark Fireberry shade, while suede elements including the lacestays and overlays at the toe and heel are also in this hue. To strike a bold contrast, the leather collar, heel tab, and side Swoosh are in an unexpected Electro Orange. Elsewhere, the silhouette furthers the vintage aesthetic via aged looks and signature details. Specfically, the tongue uses a yellow exposed foam design to feign a worn look and the black Waffle rubber outsole remains relatively unchanged since its 1974 debut.
Get a closer look at the Nike Waffle Trainer 2 SP below as you wait for the pair to hit select retailers on May 1st.
In other news under the Swoosh umbrella, the “First Use” pack will include the Nike Air Max 90.
