Vivienne Westwood is arguably responsible for ASICS’ more interesting collaborations. And as of this year, the designer label honed their sights on the GEL-Kayano 27, offering a number of experimental releases. Here, though a bit more reserved than the iteration prior, they’re continuing this though with deeper inspection of the original silhouette.

What ensues is a rather traditional look that comes in not just one but two different colorways. The main construction, which arrives in either desert drab or white, is composed of a robust ripstop, a fabric known for its durability and use in the military. This material runs through the majority of the shoe, thematically contrasting the raw netting that dresses from the lower mid-panel to the toe. Branding, then, prints in deep black adjacent, promoting the usual tiger stripe as well as Vivienne Westwood’s own insignia. And while not exactly a running shoe, the pair features the beloved GEL cushioning, DYNAMIC DUOMAX tech, and the Impact Guidance System.
