Michael Le adidas’ use of culturally significant IPs is a step above many of their competitors. During 4/20, for example, they even invited South Park along for their special, Campus-shaped celebration. And today, just over a week thereafter, the brand is giving the kids some love as they honor the iconic characters of The Little Mermaid.
Surprisingly, Ariel’s pair is the most simple — her Superstar, which features scale-adorned Stripes, dressed only with a quote and no portrait. The supporting cast, however, actually take the spotlight, inspiring silhouettes from the Ozweego to the Gazelle. The latter, for starters, pays homage to Max, the lovable English Sheepdog that stood by the side of Prince Eric. In contrast, the former is far more vile, with Ursula hidden along the inside. Similarly colored nods to King Triton as well as Flotsam/Jetsam, then, round off the collection via the Stan Smith and NMD R1, respectively.
