Following its special “Hall of Fame” release commemorating the legacy of Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles’ Undefeated has been going through its own archive in preparation for a “Nike Dunk vs. Nike Air Force 1” collection. Included in the impending capsule is a low-top version of the latter silhouette clad in an olive scheme inspired by a collaborative version of the former from 2003.
Although the muse first released 18 years ago in celebration of the boutique’s second “brick-and-mortar” location, a Dunk High and Hyperdunk 2012 pack launched in exclusive numbers in commemoration of the initial collaboration. Under its most recent Nike Sportswear efforts, Undefeated aims to “Bring Back 2003” by flipping colorways its used on the two of the category’s most iconic silhouettes. The latest pair in the West Coast brand’s roster indulges in a partial ballistic nylon build, donning a deep olive green across most of its upper. Profile swooshes, laces and collar lining match the outsoles’ pitch-black makeup; co-branding across the shoe – including the “Five Strike” logo on the lateral heel – follow suit. Lastly, the midsole nods to the past given its slight-yellowing.
