Although tie-dye has long been a popular summer trend, it has arguably grown since the rise of TikTok and additional time for DIY activities at home during last year’s quarantine. To keep the color swirls’ momentum going, adidas is welcoming summer with a tie-dye UltraBOOST 4.0 sure to liven up any outfit.
As if it was a plain white t-shirt, the pair’s Primeknit upper flaunts haphazard hits of rainbow that resemble the patterns created by tie-dying. To keep the multicolor theme going, the heel pull loop opts for a rainbow gradient coloring that is also fitting for Pride Month. These mixes of colors are offset by a translucent lace cage as well as a white heel counter and BOOST foam midsole. Even the often-black Continental rubber applied underfoot is in white, keeping things light as we head into the warmer months. It’s also worth noting that the outsole is constructed of Better Rubber—a material composed of recycled rubber to further adidas’s goals towards sustainability.
