DTLR Honors Dunbar’s Undefeated Run In The 80s With The adidas Forum Hi “Baltimore Boys”

You don’t need to look far and long to discover Baltimore’s influence on culture. Often the backdrop for titillating television crime dramas, the Charm City has also been pumping out hoops talent that can rival that of other territories. For its latest collaboration, DTLR re-tells the epic run of Dunbar High School, a squad that went undefeated through two seasons from 1981 through 1983 while producing famous and fan-favorite NBA talent, and they’re doing so in collaboration with adidas Originals and their “it” shoe of the moment – the revitalized Forum.

In honor of that storied squad, DTLR applies the jersey colors of the time – maroon and gold – to the upper of the adidas Forum, a silhouette that debuted in 1984. The metallic finish on the alchemic hue is chosen to represent the championship glory of the team, while a contrasting suede is flooded in that sultry hue on outsoles, the upper stripes, ankle, heel guard, and other overlays. Gently hidden underneath the ankle strap is a call-out to the “Baltimore Boys”, while the city’s area code of 410 is placed on the vamp.

Just 600 pairs will release on July 2nd exclusively at DTLR online and in-store at their Mondawmin Mall, Church Square and Monument Street locations for $110.
