This Nike Air Max 90 Can’t “Escape” Comparisons To A Past Classic

In the years since its founding, Nike has amassed a wealth of notable references, some the current generation have likely forgotten or are entirely ignorant to. But following the arrival of the Air Huarache “Escape,” the brand indulged in an inspiration that would soon expand with further homages. Here, the Air Max 90 follows suit, lightly tweaking its own past iterations.

Effectively a remix of the “Escape 2” originally offered in 2003, the colorway adopts many of the same tones and features. The quarter and mudguard, for example, don similar hits of dark and light tan, their placement an inverse to the aforementioned pair’s own. And while the Swoosh may display the exact same shade, the base is entirely unique, subversive as its toe, collar, and lace unit dye a dark black unlike its inspiration’s white finish.

For an official look at these Air Max 90s, see below. Sizes are sure to appear on Nike.com and select retailers soon.

In other news, the Undefeated Dunk Low is adding snakeskin to its arsenal.
