The Nike Dunk High has dressed up in handfuls of experimental takes over the past seven months (many courtesy of Nike SB). And with the recent emergence of an aged, “Acid Wash”-reminiscent trio, the 36-year-old design suggests it has more eye-catching ensembles in the tuck.
Reportedly a collaboration with UNDERCOVER, the upcoming trifecta indulges in shades of grey, black and red. Abstract-shaped patterns cover each pair’s smooth leather overlays, while a near-fluorescent yellow takes over the midsole for a “vintage” aesthetic. Profile swooshes and paneling at the toe box, mid-foot and around the collar starkly contrast the randomly-applied blotches across every Nike Dunk, delivering makeups ostensibly inspired by classic outfits to have appeared on Peter Moore’s iconic design. In any case, the styles are free of any branding that would associate them to Jun Takahashi’s label, although detailing on the sock-liner may reveal otherwise.
Enjoy a first look at all three pairs together, and anticipate Nike SNKRS launch details as fall inches closer.
