After launching earlier this Summer in a number of different colorway varieties inspired by Zion Williamson’s past, Jordan Brand is set to launch his signature shoe, the Jordan Zion 1, in a colorway matching his New Orleans Pelicans threads. While we originally thought these to be associated with the Olympics due to the white/navy/red mix with a golden tongue, this particular release is actually suited for his local uniform as he expects to stick with the team that drafted him just two years ago.
So why exactly is Zion Williamson, an NBA All-Star, not on Team USA? He and teammate Brandon Ingram were announced as finalists back in May, but neither made the team. However, Zion will likely be a fixture in the country’s global competition efforts throughout his career, so it’s only a matter time before he takes home an Olympic medal.
A release date for these Zion 1s is not yet confirmed, but should be landing in stores in the coming weeks. Check out our Jordan Release Dates page for the latest.
