Like countless kids growing up in cities like Detroit, Mamadou Bah once had aspirations to play in the NBA. And while he still hoops, he’s switched up his way of entering the League from balling to fashion. Enter: C’Est Bon, a clothing brand that boasts fans the likes of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Darius Bazley and New Orleans Pelicans’ Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Most recently, however, Dou has had the opportunity to live out another dream by partnering with NIKE, Inc. on a Player-Exclusive iteration of the Air Jordan 35 Low.
Although the Air Jordan 36‘s retail release is on the horizon, Bah’s limited-to-just-100-pairs collaboration serves as the low-top sneaker’s perfect farewell. Hailing from West Africa, the C’Est Bon (which translates to “It’s Good” from French) founder utilizes vibrant yellow and orange for both the basketball sneaker and its highly-detailed, custom shoe box. Jumpman and “MB” logos make their way onto both propositions, with “C’Est Bon” text appearing on the kicks’ lateral heel and lace guards. The bulk of the low-top Air Jordan 35 indulges in shades of tan, while the Eclipse Plate 2.0 boasts a dark speckled arrangement. Dou’s personal mantra – “ONLY OPTION” – is stamped on the outsole, whereas sock-liners feature a “TIME IS ALL WE’VE GOT” message, one that’s at the core of both Bah’s persona and his brand.
