Thanks to Casablanca, the New Balance XC-72 debuted on a stage it more than deserved, its retro-future look tailored with the label’s own design language. And soon, after a rather successful launch, the silhouette will unveil its very first GR.
Despite being a spin-off to the 327, the model offers a look far more futuristic, changing the context of near identical elements. Suede overlays, for example, are visually familiar, though their pastel blue, green, and pink colors alternate atop a much sleeker, off-white foundation. Black and grey neutrals are then sandwiched between, dressing from the forefoot through the lace unit. Below, the tooling is quite the dramatic shift from its predecessor — its heel clip ribbed in texture and its front fully molded with aggressive, spiky tread pattern.

In other news, the Social Status Dunk Mid Chocolate Milk releases next week.
