Jovani Hernandez Throughout its 36-year-history, the Air Jordan 1 has done a lot. Yet, the creative team at Brand Jordan hasn’t exhausted every idea, as confirmed by the rumored Retro High OG variant dipped in “Varsity Red/Iron Ore/Sail” set to release on February 4th, 2022.
An exclusive for women and children, the newly-surfaced rumor proposes that Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker will don a predominantly-two-tone arrangement across a synthetic leather upper. Ruby-colored panels appear around the forefoot, along the tongue and across the ankle and heel, with chenille profile swooshes also indulging in the vibrant “Varsity Red” color. The “Chicago”-reminiscent arrangement further contributes to Air Jordan history as it opts for light grey corduroy material at the tongue, complimenting the collar underlays’ scheme. Underfoot, the upcoming retro rounds out the bold proposition with a “colorless” midsole and scarlet outsole combination.
Official images haven’t emerged just yet, but that’s likely to change as a Nike SNKRS launch date inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy a first-look here below.
