Michael Le Today, there are no shortage of classic films, be it modern day phenomena like the Marvel franchise or old beloveds such as The Godfather. And though certainly far more lighthearted and less action-packed, Home Alone is equally deserving of a spot in the pantheon of icons.
While most families are gearing up for a holiday viewing, adidas is celebrating the movie by way of the Forum Low, which draws inspiration from Kevin McCallister’s own kicks. As a direct nod to the protagonist’s exact colorway, the collaborative pair is dressed in red and white, the former applied to the stripes, branding, and accompanying accents. The neutral builds out much of the adjacent construction — e.g. the strap, upper, midsole, etc. — burnt to a char at certain points as a nod to one of the flick’s many traps.
The details don’t stop just there; they continue to commemorate the film as a whole via numerous additions. For starters, the hang tag spells out the “Home Alone” title, which sits in front of a silhouetted Kevin. Along the underside of the strap, “THIS IS MY HOUSE, I HAVE TO DEFEND IT” is written in bold text, its backdrop matching that of the collar’s contrast darning, the heel’s wax-like badge, and the house graphic at the lateral. What’s more, the tongue is customized with a doormat-inspired tab, multiple pins join the package, and three different sets of insoles depict select scenes and the McCallister Battle Plan.
