Nike Veers Close To “Shattered Backboard” With This Air Force 1 GORE-TEX

Nike Veers Close To “Shattered Backboard” With This Air Force 1 GORE-TEX

Over the years, the “Shattered Backboard” colorway has been recontextualized a number of times, some iterations more beloved than others. And while not imitated exactly, the color combination definitely had some influence on this upcoming Air Force 1 GORE-TEX.

The model’s specific highlights are put forth as per usual, with the forefoot’s embroideries spelling out the GORE-TEX name in thick font. Behind, additional branding debosses into the heel, its text far less succinct than the aforementioned as well as the dual logos at the tongue. In colorway, the pair upholds the “Shattered Backboard” theme, applying bright warm tones to the rear, Swoosh, and forefoot. A dark brown rounds out the package at near all other points — e.g. the tumbled leather toe cap, synthetic mid-panel, lining, etc. — contrasting the “Sail” that finishes the midsole and laces.

Enjoy an official look at these below and sit tight as they’re sure to appear on Nike.com and select retailers soon.

In other news, the Cool Grey 11s are coming very, very soon.
