With one of the most-celebrated catalogs in sneakers, Nike Basketball has kept a consistent flow of retroing products since the early naughts. And while one-to-one reissues are always met with fanfare, the hoops-obsessed category isn’t afraid to experiment on beloved designs. Case in point: a newly-surfaced Nike Air More Uptempo for kids complete with fleece-covered “AIR”-lettering.
Synthetic leather bases are clad in black, which both harken back to the silhouette’s inaugural style and allow for the aforementioned detailing to revel in the spotlight; mesh and textile components across the upper follow suit. Hits of vibrant red, yellow, purple and blue enter the mix via the profiles, delivering a mismatched outline of the pop art-inspired logo. And while eye-catching in its own right, the “AIR” that takes over both medial and lateral sides are that much more prominent on the latest kid’s-exclusive given its fur-like material. Spines are also covered in the cold-ready material, though inner-lining opts for a standard textile makeup. Underfoot, Air Max-reminiscent cushioning opts for a ruby color that also appears on swooshes throughout the Uptempo.
Enjoy official images of the pair here below, and anticipate a Nike.com launch soon.
