Sneaker News UNDERCOVER’s recent partnership with fellow Japanese label sacai and the Nike LDWaffle silhouette resulted in not one, not two, but three distinct colorways that succinctly represented Jun Takahashi’s taste in color-blocking. Comparable to the GYAKUSOU running aesthetic, the three colorways produced fit perfectly with the layered look of the Nike LDWaffle, which is exactly why this upcoming Waffle One SE seems so appealing.
This upcoming release seems to have a similar color palette to the “Night Maroon” colorway, only if these had its own touch of the brownish-red tone. Perhaps a simple lace-swap could achieve that same look, or a quick touch of paint elsewhere should you be ambitious. Still, this Waffle One is clean on its own, and we can see it being a popular pick once it becomes available on Nike.com either late December or sometime early 2022.
