Say what you will about Russell Westbrook’s contributions to his teams, but very few in the league can match his intensity and aggression on the court. While his physical talents have helped him get this far, it is Russell’s roots that continue to push him towards excellence and hopefully a first NBA title. In his current quest for Finals glory, Jordan Brand will be along for the wild ride with the all-new Jordan Why Not .5 signature shoe (the ZER0 has been removed from the name), officially unveiled here in four heartfelt colorways.
The first tan pair, which Russell wore on Christmas Day, is dubbed the “Inner City” is was designed in collaboration with his own clothing label, Honor The Gift; alongside the shoes will be a full apparel line that captures the Jordan essence and the label’s LA roots. Next up is “Childhood”, a purple/crimson palette inspired by his children Noah, Jordan, and Skye; these will release March 1st in full family sizes. The pink/neon is called the “Raging Grace”, inspired by his untamed passion both on and off the court; a release is confirmed in full family sizes on March 15th. Finally, the “Hype Music” is a nod to Westbrook’s tradition of blasting tunes during pre-game shoot-arounds and his workouts; those are expected on April 5th. The Why Not .5 is noted for three key performance ingredients; large volume Zoom at the fore-foot, a webbing fit system featuring lockdown midfoot bands, and multi-directional traction on the sole.
Check out a closer look at all four ahead and stay tuned for detailed looks as we approach release dates later this year.
