The adidas Y-3 Kaiwa Returns To Basics With Its “Core Black” Colorway

The adidas Y-3 Kaiwa Returns To Basics With Its “Core Black” Colorway

An aesthetic reset of sorts, the adidas Y-3 Kaiwa‘s latest colorway is neither loud nor innovative. Rather, it’s a return to basics, effectively starting the year off with a blank slate.

Unlike the silhouette’s last appearance in August of last year, which saw the shoe dressed in “Semi Frozen Yellow,” this pair features a classic “Core Black.” The neutral is applied to both the upper’s many premium materials, such as the tumbled leather, suedes, and adjacent synthetics. Along the midsole, the distended molds tonally follow suit, masking even the “Yohji Yamamoto” branding debossed atop. Noticeable deviation comes by way of the rest of the bottom and heel tab, which proffer a light cream and white finish, respectively.

For a closer look, check out the imagery below. Currently, sizes are making their way to select retailers, with other reporting a January 15th release. For links to every one as they become available, see the store list below.

In other news, the Air Jordan 4 Red Thunder also drops tomorrow.
