Jovani Hernandez Teased throughout the better half of 2021, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Dark Marina Blue” was confirmed as part of Jordan Brand’s Spring 2022 retro collection on December 10th, 2021. Ahead of the pair’s February 16th release date, the shoes have emerged via official images.
Undoubtedly a nod to the model’s original “Royal Blue” colorway, the upcoming sneakers add yet another tally to the legacy of Peter Moore’s 37-year-old design. A “Black” smooth leather base sets the stage for the titular “Dark Marina Blue” hue, which takes over every overlay across the upper from forefoot to lower heel. Profile swooshes also indulge in the Air Jordan 1‘s rich blue color, as do laces and “NIKE AIR”-branded labels on the top of the tongue; collars and “Wings” insignias on the lateral ankle flap take notes from their 1985-predecessor and opt for a pitch dark arrangement that further allows its blue counterpart to revel in the spotlight. Underfoot, the tall retro features a “White” midsole coupled with an outsole dipped in its principal color, a combination that resembles past Nike Dunk drops.
