Commonly overlooked by casual Air Max historians, the Air Max 96 II burst back onto the scene for its first-ever re-issue to the market in 2021. Already delivered in its most recognizable OG colorways and a slew of newer selections, the 96 II has flown under the radar in that “if you know, you know” altitude of sneakerheads who can’t resist nostalgic notes in their sneaker rotation.
Set to arrive sometime in 2022 is this clean and simple colorway of the Air Max 96 II. Nothing is as straight-forward as black and white, but the layered look of all the components of the shoe make these look far more ornate due to the contrast. In fact, something about the design lets the black and white sit on the shoe like a tuxedo, with the toe-guard acting like a lapel.
You can find these at Nike.com and retailers soon for $160. But in bigger Air Max news, 2022 will be a huge year for the Air Max 1 as a number of collaborations are already in the works.
