As the world awaits for it to return in original “Silver Bullet” styling, the Nike Air Max 97 is taking its 25th anniversary as an opportunity to experiment. For its latest proposition, the Air-cushioned silhouette has dressed up in “Coconut Milk” and “Dark Beetroot” tones.
While neither hue is new to the Swoosh’s Air Max offerings, their appearance on Christian Tresser’s 1997 design are noteworthy given the darker color’s appearance atop patent leather mudguards. Vamp overlays closest to the tongue deviate from the wine-like flair in favor of an off-white, creamy color that simultaneously allows “Dark Beetroot” to revel in the spotlight and further delivers a touch of class to the women’s-exclusive pair. Sole units underfoot predominantly indulge in “Coconut Milk” as well, though swoosh branding deviates in a muted orange makeover.
Enjoy official images of the pair here below, and anticipate a Nike.com launch as summer inches closer.
